OUR early bird discount scheme allied to competitive pricing have pushed season ticket sales close to the 400 barrier.
And with the deadline of existing seat retention coming up fast – 22nd June 2012 – fans, old and new, are encouraged to buy a ticket to ensure their attendance at what is sure to be an exciting season at Dumbarton Football Stadium.
Commercial director Alan Findlay told us : “As of today we are just a dozen sales off 400 season tickets being sold which is a tremendous effort by Sons fans.
“On behalf of everyone at the club I’d like to record our appreciation to supporters who have again bought a ticket and given that we expect crowds to rise due to our new status as a first division club, it makes sense to buy one to guarantee a seat.
“We have some cracking early games coming up at the Stadium when Dunfermline Athletic and Hamiltion Accies visit and of course we’ll have two matches each against Morton and Partick Thistle, all games that are sure to have us busy.
“With 18 home league games scheduled or £164 season ticket means that entry is just £9 per game and our concession ticket at £82 gives access for less than a fiver.
Administration manager Antonia Kerr has been busy processing all applications since her return from holiday and she too urges fans to purchase as early as possible.
She said : “We’ve had two late evening openings at the Stadium and this has helped with sales. It’s been the busiest pre-season since I joined the club.”
Antonia is a Partick Thistle fan and still attends Firhill regularly and with the Sons and the Maryhill Magyars now in the same division will her loyalties be tested?
“Just a wee bit”, she continued.
“Perhaps a draw in both matches would be a good compromise!
“Seriously though, the season ahead will be an adventure for us here at Dumbarton and I’d encourage as many fans as possible to get a season ticket as the savings are fantastic.”
