THE draw for rounds one and two in this season’s Scottish FA Youth Cup took place at Hampden Park yesterday afternoon with Sons recebing a bye into round two.

There are a total of 50 clubs participating in the 2012/2013 competition. Clubs are regionally placed in Rounds One and Two to minimise travelling. Clubs reaching Round Four of the 2011/2012 competition will enter the competition at the 3rd Round stage this year.

Round One – (34 clubs) – Sunday 26 August 2012

North Region – all 8 clubs will receive a bye into Round Two
South Region – all 5 clubs will receive a bye into Round Two
Central Region – 21 numbered balls, each corresponding to a team, will be placed in a pot 3 ties will be drawn. The remaining 15 clubs will receive a bye into Round Two

Round Two – (31 clubs) – Sunday 23 September 2012

North Region – 8 numbered balls, will be placed in a pot and 4 ties will be drawn
South Region – 5 numbered balls, will be placed in a pot and 2 ties will be drawn
Remaining club will receive a bye into Round Three
Central Region – 18 numbered balls, will be placed in a pot (3 Round One winners plus 15 clubs who received a bye) and 9 ties will be drawn
