SAM STANTON JOINS ON LOAN FROM HIBS

Wednesday 31st August 2016

22-YEAR old Sam Stanton tonight joined Sons on-loan from Hibs ahead of the summer transfer window closing.

Sam, a midfielder, has also previously played for Cowdenbeath and Livingston, and represented Scotland at youth international level.

Stanton established himself in the Hibs first team during the second half of the 2013–14 season. He won the SPFL young player of the month award for February 2014.

In April 2014, Stanton signed a four-year contract extension with Hibs.

In January this year, he signed for Livingston for the remainder of the 2015–16 Scottish Championship season.

And now he’s a Son of the Rock!

His deal will run to the end of the 2016/2017 season.

Boss Stevie Aitken commented : “I’m over the moon to capture someone of Sam’s ability.

“He’ll be a great addition to the squad and I’m really looking forward to working with him.

“Also I need to thank the DFC board for helping to get the deal over the line.”
