Wednesday 2nd June 2021
DEFENDER Sam Wardrop will move on from Dumbarton, having informed the club today that he has decided not to accept the offer of a new deal.
He had two spells with the club, initially joining on loan from Celtic in the 2017/18 season which saw him play 27 games.
He then returned on loan from Dundee United in January 2020 and played a further seven before the season was cut short.
The 2020 close season saw Sam return on a permanent basis, and he played 23 games last season, which was cruelly cut short for him by a nasty injury to his eye socket.
He has scored one goal for Sons, the winner in a 2-1 victory over Inverness CT in September 2017.
Everybody at Dumbarton FC thanks Sam for his service to the club, and wishes him all the very best for the future.
