Dumbarton Football Club would like to wish Sports Scientist Ross Banks all the best as he moves on to full-time football.
Ross joined the club ahead of the 2023/24 campaign and proved to be an invaluable member of the Sons backroom team in his year at the Rock.
He now moves on to a similar role with Queen’s Park, following in the footsteps of predecessor Matty Fenwick who took on a position with Hibernian.
Boss Stevie Farrell commented: “The game of football is always changing with the addition of collecting and analysing data, and in Ross we had one of the best at that.
“He was totally committed in his time with us and has fully earned his move to full-time football with Queen’s Park.
“Ross is welcome back anytime and we are all confident he will excel in his new role.”
The departure of Ross does mean that the club will be looking to recruit a new Sports Scientist.
A BSc Sport & Exercise Science degree (or similar), experience in working with professional athletes in an applied context and GPS knowledge and data interpretation skills are required. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary setup and any relevant sports accreditations or certificates would be viewed as desired.
The succesful candidate would work closely with the first-team management and players as the club prepare for the League One season.
