Dumbarton Football Club can this afternoon confirm that Ross MacLean has left the club.

The forward player had one-year remaining on his contract at the Rock as he now moves on to League Two side Forfar Athletic for a “moderate fee”.

‘Chucky’ joined the Sons at the beginning of the 2021 season and went on to score 17 goals across 89 appearances for Dumbarton.

The 27-year-old put a pause on his current contract in January due to work commitments but now departs on a permanent basis.

Boss Stevie Farrell said: “Ross was an excellent professional for us in his time with the club and played a big part and scored some big goals for us across two and a half seasons.

“There was a change to his work circumstances, which we respect, but it meant he was unable to commit to two training sessions a week with ourselves.

“We wish him all the best and know he will be a big success for his new club.”

All at Dumbarton FC wish Ross the best in the rest of his career.
