DIRECTOR Ian Wilson has been in touch to give additional news on Brabco’s stadium relocation efforts.
Ian reports: “Since I last posted to the club’s website there has been a lot of activity to do with the clubs plans for relocation. Brabco have appointed a number of firms to update the plans for the new stadium. We now have civil engineers, transport consultants, flood risk consultants, lawyers, architects and business planning experts updating our plans. The updates include moving the external pitches out of the floodplain and adding office accommodation to the stadium and other spaces for non match day revenue generation.
“Simon Turner of Your Sport Your Home as been appointed to carry out independent research concerning the routes to sustainability for plans to relocate the club’s stadium to Young’s Farm. This work will conclude in the coming weeks with a business plan that will be put to the board for approval and will form a major part of our planning submission to the local council.
“Your Sport Your Home was founded on the principle that every sports club deserves a home. They specialise in supporting Scottish sports organisations to maximise the long term sustainability of facilities.
“The primary focus will be exploring models for the effective use of new community based facilities at the site. As part of the assessment Simon will be in contact with several local sports groups and other stakeholders to assess their facility needs and potential demand for indoor and outdoor spaces.
“Please give Simon your input if you are one of the stakeholders contacted.”
