QUIDS FOR THE KIDS

Tuesday 25th October 2016

THE Sons Supporters Trust and club are appealing to all Dumbarton supporters to help them raise as much money as possible for DFC’s youth development work by giving £1 at next Saturday’s home match against Dunfermline Athletic (29th Oct).

The initiative was started 4-years ago and has proved to be a successful fundraising venture.

The concept is simple ; the Trust and Club are asking all supporters who come along to the game against the Pars to drop just ONE POUND into special collection buckets, which will be carried by coaches and players of the YDI at the match.

All proceeds will be used for the club’s youth and community programme.

“This is our fourth season of our Quids for Kids collection and we are hoping that it will be a success”, said Alan Findlay, the Trust’s director on the board of Dumbarton FC.

“By giving just £1 on Saturday against Dunfermline Athletic, every supporter can play their part in continuing that success.”

Tony McNally, head of youth football at DFC commented : “Due to the current financial constraints surrounding Scottish Football there is now a greater emphasis on developing the youth players at clubs and giving the necessary support and backing our vibrant and productive youth development programme will continue to flourish and provide opportunities for the local talent to become associated with our Club from an early age and one day, achieve their dream of becoming a first team player.

“To continue the fantastic work our coaches provide, we need money and whilst we are all working very hard and giving lots of time, funding is very, very important.”

Sons fans are being urged to do their bit next Saturday, showing that in spite of difficult economic times, Dumbarton FC and the Sonstrust are determined to work together for the future of the Club, the community and young people.
