PROSPECTS BOOSTED BY RESULTS ELSEWHERE

Wednesday 14th April 2021

DUMBARTON’S two main rivals in the battle for survival in League One were defeated last night, boosting Sons’ chances ahead of Thursday’s crunch with Clyde at Broadwood.

The Bully Wee lost 2-0 away to Partick Thistle, while Forfar Athletic were defeated 3-1 away to Airdrieonians.

Clyde’s result also guarantees that they will finish in the bottom half of League One after 18 games, when the league splits for a further four fixtures.

Dumbarton and Forfar have already had this confirmed, meaning that the three teams will play each other again after the split, with the remaining two opponents to be confirmed.

Of greater significance at the moment is the meeting with Clyde in Cumbernauld tomorrow evening. We will advise when streaming for the match is live through Clyde’s own streaming service.
