DUMBARTON’S matchday programme, Sons View, has plans to keep moving forward, with work already underway on next season’s edition.
According to reports from various sources, the future of matchday programmes is in doubt at English Football League clubs.
But Sons View remains an important part of the matchday experience for many fans, and editor Graeme Robertson is working hard to keep the tradition going.
Saturday’s edition for the play-off semi-final second leg will be another collector’s item, with Graeme being kept awake until the small hours of last night finishing work on it.
The Edinburgh man, who has been programme editor since 1991, said: “Sons View has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and part of many others’ lives too.
“At Dumbarton, it is viewed as a key part of the matchday experience by many people. These include the hardworking team we have behind the scenes, and the readers who buy it.
“We’re already planning for next season’s issue to continue the progress we have made over the last few years. We’re confident it’s something the fans will enjoy.
“But in the immediate future, we have another issue going on sale this Saturday at the second leg with Arbroath.
“It’s the first time a play-off match has had its second leg at Dumbarton, so there’s that unique point to the fixture.
“Hopefully it will prove popular – and hopefully there is one more issue still to come this season!”
