MAN of the match Bryan Prunty’s spectacular overhead kick secured a point for Sons against Alloa Athletic last night and moved Ian Murray’s men into 6th spot in the SPFL Championship.
And the popular striker (pictured right with his MoM award) thought that a share of the spoils was the least Dumbarton deserved.
He said : “A point was a fair result although we did have chances to win the game.”
Commenting on his goal which drew gasps from the crowd, Prunts added : “I’m enjoying my football right now. I love playing at Dumbarton and I think it shows with goals like that.
“I don’t think I was a thrilled as me wee fella who dived on top of me during the celebrations!”
Manager Ian Murray was happy at his team’s effort.
He said: “I thought we were excellent and we dominated the game over the piece.
“It would have been criminal if we came out of the match with nothing.
“The two goals were fantastic and lit up the game and it was another spectacular effort from Prunts.
“I think that’s his third overhead kick in three seasons. He deserved it.”
