DFC Community Stadium Company Ltd and Denny’s Homes Ltd report that they have obtained positive feedback from fans and local residents for their proposals for the relocation of Dumbarton Football Club and the redevelopment of the existing stadium site.
The plans were put on display at Dumbarton Football Club, on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th November 2014, where members of the project team were on hand to explain the plans and listen to what people had to say.
A spokesman for the Club, said: “We are extremely pleased with the turn out, with more than 200 supporters and local residents taking the time to come along to view our plans and discuss our proposals over the two days. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we received a number of specific, useful comments relating to facilities, access and phasing which we will consider further.
“Specifically, we are aware that some attendees wanted more detail on the costs associated with the relocation of the stadium. We understand this desire.
“At this stage, our principal consideration is scheme design and we will be looking to provide a realistic financial framework for the relocation after the respective planning applications are determined.”
The spokesman added: “We are extremely grateful for the level of support shown and will now work on refining our plans for submission of our planning applications early in the New Year.”
