SONS development team coach Mark Spalding is a happy man now that his under-20s charges are on a winning run.
Winning four consecutive matches has given the team belief as the coach explains.
He said : “Firstly I’m delighted for the players that we won last night against Clyde.
“The boys are on a very good run at the moment and playing with a confidence, belief and an incredibly hard work ethic that shows in their recent form.
“What’s really pleasing is the things we are working on at training are starting to be replicated in the games. Our third goal last night was a counter attack and combination play which have been themes we have been working on.
“It was also great to see Brian Cameron make his first start, for a 16 year old he’s shows great maturity and has many qualities required for a centre-back.
“Brian’s been impressive when he has been in with 20s and sure these experiences will really aid in his development.
“With two league games to go, players are starting to find some form and look to be developing as footballers.
“It will be about maintaining this and ensuring during the summer they improve even more.
“With a Stirlingshire cup game coming up it is an opportunity for those doing well to get a chance to play with first team players which will be a great reward for their recent hard work.”
Next up for the young Sons is a home game against Queen of the South at Murray Park on 13th April, kick-off 8pm.
