Thursday 7th May 2015
MANAGER Ian Murray started contract talks with players at the Dumbarton Football Stadium tonight and as a result members of the 2014/2015 squad have been released.
Leaving the club with our best wishes are defender Joe Coleman and goalkeeper Stephen Grindlay.
Both join Lee Mair, Archie Campbell, Mitch Megginson and Scott Linton as players who are not part of the manager’s plans for next season.
Ian said: “Telling players they are being released is always a difficult job for any manager but its part of the job.
“We are actively seeking additions to the playing staff and over the weeks ahead, the squad will take shape.”
Midfielder Chris Turner has told the manager that he won’t be taking up his offer to play for the Sons in the next campaign. It’s expected that he will sign for Premiership club Hamilton Accies.
Meanwhile, negotiations are ongoing with existing squad members, and news of contract agreements will be reported as soon as we are able.
