In August 2015 the burly defender signed for Queen’s Park, returning to the club three years after first leaving.

After impressing in his performances for Queen’s Park during the 2016–17 season, Ryan signed for Brechin City in 2017, and he joined Dumbarton in July 2019.

Ryan, who had offers from elsewhere, has scored 10 goals in 74 games for Sons in total so far (as of the start of season 22/23), having signed from Brechin City in 2019. He was the first member of the 2020-21 to sign on again, this time on a two year contract.

Unfortunately Ryan’s 2021/22 season ended early with a bad injury sustained at Airdrie in October. He now hopes to bounce back strongly this season and was named as the club’s new captain in June 2022.

Ryan joined Clyde on a loan deal until the end of the 2022/23 season in January 2023.
