POPULAR striker Pat Walker has left the Club by mutual consent.
Patch, as he is known, became Dumbarton’s first signing of 2011 in January after a trial period.
After being signed for Albion Rovers by then manager Jim Chapman in 2006 from Ayrshire junior club Lugar Boswell Thistle, Pat had two spells at Cliftonhill interrupted by a period of travelling to countries including Argentina, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand and China.
He spent the first four months of the 2010-11 season at Annan Athletic, but found that the travelling did not fit in with his work. In May 2011 he signed for Sons for season 2011-12, and in May 2012 he signed a one year contract extension.
A big favourite of the Sons fans, he was the winner of the Sonstrust’s Travel Section’s 2011-12 player of the year award.
Manager Ian Murray said : “We’ve agreed terms with Pat to terminate his contract and we wish him well for the future.”
