Dumbarton Football Club are delighted to announce that Patrick O’Neill has agreed a new one-year deal with the club.

The 32-year-old will continue to provide depth to Stevie Farrell’s goalkeeping options for the upcoming campaign.

The former Brechin City man signed with Sons initially in 2021 but made no appearances in his time with the club that season before re-joining in January of this year after an injury to number one goalkeeper Brett Long.

He made his debut for the club in the final game of the regular League Two campaign last season in the 2-1 defeat at Peterhead.

Dumbarton boss Stevie Farrell commented: “Paddy plays an important part in and around the dressing room and we are pleased to have him signed up again.

“Despite only signing for the club in January he had been helping us out at training in the months before that and he’s a great fit with Brett and our goalkeeping coach, Eric Phillips.

“As well as that he’s a guy I can trust and would have no problems in handing him the gloves on any given day.”
