PADDY BOYLE has left Dumbarton for a second time after deciding not to accept the club’s offer of a player/coach role for next season.
The defender first joined Sons in the second half of the 2008/09 season and became first choice left back as the club won the Third Division championship.
He then moved into full-time football, before returning to the club during the 2021 close season after leaving Kelty Hearts.
In total, Paddy has played 53 games for the club, scoring four goals. Last season he played 33 times and scored one goal, the equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Alloa Athletic in September.
Manager Stevie Farrell offered Paddy a player/coach role at the end of the season, but he has now decided to move on from Sons.
Stevie said: “Although I am disappointed I fully understand that Paddy still wants to play, and I am sure he will move into coaching when both he and his family believe the time is right.
“I wish Paddy every success in whatever he decides to do going forward.”
All at Dumbarton thank Paddy for his efforts across his two spells with the club, and wish him well in the future.
