THE referee for Saturday’s SPFL Championship clash with Cowdenbeath at Central Park will be Matt Northcroft.
The 39-year old has not yet been in charge of a game involving the Sons however he was the man in the middle when Cowden lost 3-1 to Alloa Athletic on 24th August 2013.
In fact the last time he refereed a Dumbarton match was at Gayfield in March 2012 when goals from Innes and Doris condemned the Sons to a 2-0 defeat.
So far this campaign Mr Northcroft has officiated in 16 matches, has issued 50 yellow cards and handed out three dismissals.
And topping off a busy weekend, the whistler will be the fourth official at the Premiership match between Inverness CT and Dundee Utd (live on Sky) on Sunday 12th Jan.
Northcroft will be ably assisted at Central Park by Michael Banks and David Lowe.
