NEW SPONSOR LINED UP

Wednesday 24th June 2015

COMMERCIAL director Alan Findlay gives an update on what has been happening behind the scenes at the DFS this summer and also reveals two new ventures which will help with sustaining the club going forward.

He said: “Away from the football side of things, we have been extremely busy with staff and volunteers going the extra mile for the club.

“Season ticket sales have been terrific and has given everyone a real boost.

“Sons fans responded brilliantly to our loyalty period idea and we are on target to match sales from last season, which is great news.

“We are also negotiating with new sponsors and have actually already had a number of companies commit to helping us which is great news.

“In the next month we will be in a position to announce a major deal with a local company.

“Last season we secured a new shirt sponsor with David Ramsay at Baxter Ramsay and this has been a great move for both parties.

“David has been a real asset to the club and the arrangement we have is great for both parties with benefits that suit.

“The new sponsor we have lined up is in a similar mould and when we make the announcement it’ll show again the value of being based in the local community.

“And talking of strips, I can reveal that we’ll new away kit in the new season and I think supporters will like it.

“Our retro first team strip will remain for at least one more season, hopefully longer. I think it’s a cracking kit and captures an identity for the club.”

Working with the Sons Supporters Trust, Alan also announced two important fundraising events where it is hoped fans will continue to give their support.

“We are organising another Walk to the Rock, which will be the third time we’ve tried this and the date pencilled in is Sat 5th September 2015.

“And there will another chance for fans to grace the turf at the stadium with a second play for the Sons auction game at the end of September.

“Details for both events will be released shortly”, said Alan.

“For local businesses there has never been a better time to be join us as a partner.

“The club is enjoying a high profile and is getting increased exposure through media channels.

“This provides a great platform for advertising.

“The 2015/16 season offers companies the chance to advertise across all our media.

“From pitchside advertising, match and matchball sponsorship, and a host of e-marketing opportunities that can promote businesses both regionally and nationally.

“We will also be launching a new online lottery at the beginning of the season where hopefully supporters will contribute.

“It’s an exciting time at the Club.

“We continue to look for new advertisers and sponsors particularly for our youth academy teams.

“The SPFL fixture list is now live which gives potential match and matchball sponors the opportunity to pick games, and with some high profile visitors expected at the club in the next year, businesses will get maximum exposure.

“Our first game is against Hibs and this game will be very high profile given that the Edinburgh club are one of the favourites for the Ladbrokes Championship title.

“Any match sponsor for this game will certainly be in the spotlight.”
