MANAGER Ian Murray is delighted to have strengthened his squad for the coming season with the arrival of defender Aaron Barry from Sheffield United.
The Irish born youngster will be on-loan at the Bet Butler Stadium initially till January 2014 and will provide options in a vital area of the team.
In his first year at Bramall Lane he was part of the Academy team that reached the final of the FA Youth Cup, whilst last term he captained at U21 level and made into the first-team matchday squad on occasion.
Manager Ian Murray is delighted with his capture:
“I think we are signing a quality player and he will be able to slot in at centre-half.
“Aarron, despite his age, has experience of playing at a good level and he’ll do well for us.
“I travelled down south last week to watch him play and we’ve put together a deal to bring him to Dumbarton.
“I’m sure he’ll settle quickly giving us more options from what is already a strong squad and its important we have competition.
“Aaron will train with us tonight and any appearance on Saturday will be subject to International Clearance being received.
“I’d like to thank David Weir at Sheffield for all his help in making this deal possible.”
Sons next game is this weekend with the visit of Albion Rovers to the Bet Butler Stadium on league cup duty – kick off 3pm.
