Dumbarton Football Club are delighted to announce a new Head of Media and Communications and Commercial Manager at the club.
John Sartain is set to take on all things media whilst Shaun Wane will oversee commercial activity.
The duo have been heavily involved behind the scenes at the club for a number of seasons and will be well known to Sons fans, but are now looking forward to getting involved in their new roles.
John, a lifelong Son of The Rock, was influential in setting up our Pixellot streaming service during the Covid pandemic and has assisted with graphics and social media content across the past few seasons.
He also almost single handedly arranged the recent fundraising match which seen a team of Dumbarton supporters take on a Sons all-star squad and supported the management team earlier this season as video analyst when members of the backroom team were unavailable.
Away from the club he has a background in working with the NHS as part of their communications team.
Speaking about his new role, he said: “Being a Dumbarton fan for all my days, I’m feeling really excited and proud to officially be involved with the club.
“Helping out over the last few years has been great and I’m proud of some of the things we have put out there on our social media channels and beyond.
“I’ve got some big ideas planned for this season and I hope we’ve got plenty of positive news to announce over the course of the campaign.”
Shaun has also played a key role behind the scenes in recent seasons at The Rock having supported with media, helped out with general day-to-day tasks at the club and even appeared as Pellie the Elephant.
He will now be focusing on running commercial, hospitality and events.
Shaun said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time here and have learnt a lot but now I’m looking forward to giving my focus to one area in particular.
“The commercial and events side of things has been really important for the club in the past when it comes to raising money and I’m keen for that to continue.
“I’ve already started planning for the coming season with some exciting events on the way and I would urge every Sons fan to do their bit and support us as much as you can.”
