SONS top goalscorer from season 2013/14 Mitch Megginson has signed a new one-year deal to remain at the Bet Butler Stadium.
Aberdeen born Mitch scored 11 league goals for Sons last term in what was an explosive first season for him in a Dumbarton shirt.
He had no hesitation in renewing his contract following talks with manager Ian Murray.
A graduate from the Pittodrie academy, Aberdeen-born Mitch made his debut for the Dons in August 2009, playing against Czech Republic opponents Sigma Olomouc in the Europa League. In all he made 26 first team appearances for the Dons.
In April 2010, he joined second division Arbroath on loan until the end of the season, and played nine games, scoring four goals for the Red Lichties.
In March 2011, he joined Brechin City on a one-month emergency loan deal, and he was again loaned in October 2012, to Alloa Athletic on an emergency loan deal which was then extended in January 2013 until the end of the season.
Mitch, who lives in Aberdeen, won six caps and scored three goals for the Scotland under-17 national team, and scored a goal on his only appearance for the under-19 team.
