NEW DEAL FOR DIV

Dumbarton Football Club are delighted to announce that David Wilson has committed his future to the club, signing a two-year deal.

The midfielder joined Sons from Albion Rovers in the Summer for his second spell at The Rock and with his contract set to expire at the end of this season, boss Stevie Farrell has moved to sign him up again.

The 28-year-old has played 28 times this campaign and found the net on four occasions, including the opening goal in our 150th Anniversary victory over East Fife.

Wilson, who also played for the club in the 2017/18 season, has missed almost two months of action recently through injury but returned to the pitch on Saturday against Annan Athletic where he netted a free-kick.

‘Div’ joins Brett Long, Finlay Gray and Ryan Wallace in being signed up for the 2023/24 season.

Manager Stevie Farrell said: “Div has been a crucial component of our midfield this season and we are delighted to have him signed up again.

“He ticks a lot of boxes for us in terms of his experience, personality and ability and we are sure he will have a positive impact on the team again next season.

“We are glad he has put his injury behind him and are confident of him having a strong end to the season.

“Talks are ongoing with various other members of the squad and we hope to be able to announce more news very soon.”
