A NEW book is set to recount the progress made by Dumbarton over the last six years.
‘The Rising Sons’ tells the story of how Sons have gone from finishing eighth in the Third Division in 2008 to become Scotland’s leading part-time team two years running.
Written by journalist Andrew Galloway, formerly from the West Dunbartonshire local press, the book includes records of the Third Division title success of 2009 and the First Division play-off victory of 2012.
The publication records the appointments and departures of Jim Chapman and Alan Adamson as manager, along with current gaffer Ian Murray’s tenure to date.
It also contains a foreword by Sons Supporters Trust chairman Brian Payne and cover photographs have been supplied by club website photographer Donald Fullarton.
The book is planned to be launched on Saturday, August 16, before Sons’ first home league game of the 2014/15 season, against Queen of the South.
Full details of how to order and pick up a copy will be made available soon.
