BARRY SMITH will be Dumbarton’s assistant manager until the end of the season, having agreed the post today.
He was most recently assistant manager of Forfar Athletic and last season was manager of Brechin City. Other clubs he has managed in his own right include Raith Rovers, East Fife, Alloa Athletic and Dundee.
Barry replaces Craig McPherson, who has taken up a role with Rangers’ youth academy.
Manager Jim Duffy said: “This was an appointment we had to make quickly and we’re very pleased to have somebody of Barry’s experience on board.
“He will meet our players at training tomorrow night and I am looking forward to working alongside him over the rest of the season.”
