AHEAD of Friday’s Ladbrokes SPFL Championship fixture release, nearly 400 Dumbarton fans have guaranteed themselves a seat at every home league match by purchasing a season ticket.
Sales are close to hitting their fourth century, and the club is hopeful that the 400 barrier can be broken by two weeks today – Tuesday, June 28.
That is the date of Sons’ opening pre-season friendly, at home to Dundee.
And by the time of the first home league fixture, on either Saturday, August 6 or Saturday, August 13, it is hoped that the figure will reach 500.
As well as season tickets for ordinary areas of the stadium, younger fans also have the chance of their own bargain ticket.
Supporters aged under 16 can purchase a season ticket for section A of the stadium at only £90.
Sons commercial director Alan Findlay said: “Sales have been steady since the discount period ended and we are inching towards our target that we set ourselves.
“In the last fortnight we’ve been contacting supporters from our database who have not yet renewed and as the season edges close we hope to have encouraged more fans to buy a season ticket.
“We still have our £90 under-16 ticket available, and this is great value, working out at a fiver per SPFL Championship match.”
