NAT WEDDERBURN IS A SONS PLAYER!

Tuesday 1st September 2020

MIDFIELDER Nat Wedderburn has become Dumbarton’s second new signing for the 2020/21 season, completing a one-year deal at training this evening.

The 29-year-old, who is 6ft 3in tall, arrives from Airdrieonians, for whom he turned out against Sons last season.

The England under-19 international started his career with Stoke City, but never played a first team game for the Potters, who loaned him out to Notts County and Hereford United.

After turning out for Northampton Town and Corby Town, he headed to Scotland with Cowdenbeath in 2013.

He has remained north of the border since then, also turning out for Inverness CT, Dunfermline Athletic and Raith Rovers.

Nat now follows Denny Johnstone in becoming a new Sons player for the coming campaign, which is now only five weeks away.

Manager Jim Duffy said: “Although he is under 30 Nat has vast experience, especially in Scottish lower league football, and he’ll be a big asset to us.

“We all know from playing against him how tough an opponent he can be for attacking players, as well as in the air.

“It has of course been important for us to add to the squad as the season draws nearer and this is another piece of the jigsaw.”

Welcome to DFC Nat!
