ARTWORK on the home side of the C&G Systems Stadium stand has started, with local artist Barry Jenkins, known as ‘Barry the Cat’ carrying out the work.
The mural which will feature an image of the club crest and the logo of the stadium sponsor is taking shape.
“We’ve been hampered a wee bit by the weather,” said Andy Gordon of C&G Systems who commissioned the work.
“But it’s taking shape and will look great when finished.
“Barry’s artwork is legendary throughout West Dunbartonshire and to have his talents on display at Dumbarton FC is a boost.”
Work started last week on the painting and Andy continued – “The mural is about bringing back the passion for the club, and will hopefully be a focal point for supporters as they enter the stadium.
“Fingers crossed that Barry can complete it before the next home game against Stenhousemuir.”
Club vice-chairman Colin Hosie commented – “The mural will be terrific once finished. The guys at C&G were keen to get something on the stand that helps their brand stand out as sponsors and we were only too happy to help.
“Barry’s work too can be seen on the road down to the stadium.
“The cafe and launderette on the corner of Glasgow Road and Victoria Street feature his work.”
