DUMBARTON FC chairman John Steele has made a short video social media to extend heartfelt thanks to Sons fans for the “amazing success” of the £25,000 ‘Support Our Sons’ crowdfunding appeal.
“Each and every one of you who contributed should be hugely proud of your engagement with the Club,” he says.
The amount raised so far (you can still chip in if you’d like to!) is £25,350 brought in by 396 supporters – including a few sizable donations.
This is helping to sustain Dumbarton FC over the close season, following a substantial loss of income from the Coronavirus shutdown.
However, the chairman warns that “the job is not yet done, and the fight not yet won”.
The aim is both to keep the Club afloat and also to prepare properly for the eventual reopening of Scottish football.
There are therefore further fundraising initiatives in the pipeline, explains John Steele, “and we are about to launch, in the immediate future, an online auction, which I’d urge all of you to support!”
More information on the auction and other income-generating ideas will be shared shortly. We will also continue to keep you up-to-date on developments at the Club.
But in the meantime, everyone at Dumbarton FC strongly echoes the chairman’s massive “Thank You!”
You can view the video on all Dumbarton’s social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
