MORE SIGNINGS FOR SONS

Saturday 13th July 2013

IN the latest of a series of signings, Dumbarton have completed deals for 26-year-old striker Kevin Smith, latterly of Queen of the South, along with fellow forward Owen Ronald.

Assistant manager Jack Ross has also been registered as a Sons player again for season 2013/14.

Kevin Smith (right) is another significant signing for Sons. He began his career with Leeds United, but was allowed to leave and moved on to Sunderland in January 2006. He then had loan spells with Wrexham and Dundee.

Smith made a total of 35 appearances for the Doonhamers, scoring seven goals, after signing for them in 2011.

Twenty-year-old Owen Ronald has impressed in the course of making a number of appearances in the SFL First Division since he first joined Dumbarton in February of this year.

Sons gaffer Ian Murray has expressed pleasure at the latest signings and at the development of his squad in a busy pre-season period.

“There’s a lot of work to do over the coming few weeks, but we’re very pleased at the progress so far,” he commented.
