MORE NEW OPTIONS TRIED IN FRIENDLY

Saturday 26th September 2020

DUMBARTON have continued to prepare for season 2020/21 in a friendly at home to BSC Glasgow which saw more new tactical options explored. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.

The game’s opening goal came for the visitors late in the first half, the result of a shot across goal which found the net.

Sons equalised with approximately 15 minutes remaining when a trialist headed in PJ Crossan’s corner.

The opportunity was used by manager Jim Duffy to try out new formations and personnel, with a number of trialists once again involved.

The game saw Sam Wardrop and Rico Quitongo return after precautionary absences. Denny Johnstone and Ross Forbes sat the game out, again on a precautionary basis.

The season’s first competitive game, at home to Dunfermline Athletic in the Betfred Cup, is now only 10 days away and this was another important workout.

Preparations will continue towards that game, but any subsequent friendlies will remain strictly behind closed doors and details of them will only be published after they have been played.

Dumbarton: Dabrowski; Wardrop, Quitongo, A Trialist, McGeever, Carswell, Wedderburn, Langan, McCluskey, Crossan, B Trialist. Used subs: Neill, Jones and two trialists.
