SONS’ new midfield recruit from Queen’s Park Darren Miller is determined to grab the opportunity he has at the Championship club with both hands.
The 22-year old has stepped up two levels to join the Sons and he said: “This is a big move for me, in fact it is a massive move for me. I will be playing against some of the best players in Scotland so it really is a bit of a dream.”
“The Championship is the most competitive league there is and I have the opportunity to play at terrific venues like Ibrox, Easter Road and St Mirren Park. As soon as I get the chance to establish myself I aim to take it with both hands.”
Miller is determined to shine in amongst the nine new signings that recently appointed manager Stephen Aitken has made as he explained: “I have not come here to make up the squad numbers as I am aiming to be playing.”
After a short spell at Albion Rovers two years ago was ended with a move to junior side Irvine Meadow and his time at Hampden was blighted with a shirt throwing episode when he was substituted at Montrose, Miller is out to make the most of his opportunity.
Miller said: “I enjoyed myself at Queen’s Park with a good bunch of boys and a good management team. It all fell apart in the last few weeks but the manager here has told me that the slate is wiped clean.”
