MEET SOME LEGENDS ON SATURDAY!

Wednesday 22nd September 2021

A NUMBER of players and backroom staff from our legendary championship-winning squad of 1972 will be at Saturday’s game against Alloa Athletic, and will meet fans after the match.

These will include the players who hold the top two places in the all-time appearance chart for Dumbarton – Johnny Graham and Lawrie Williams.

The club’s second highest all-time goalscorer, Roy McCormack, and striker Kenny Wilson, who hit 43 goals during the legendary 1971/72 season, will also be in attendance.

The full line-up of legends who will be there on Saturday are:

Johnny Graham (385 games for Dumbarton – the club record – and 29 goals)
Lawrie Williams (372 games for Dumbarton – the second highest in the club’s history)
Roy McCormack (307 games for Dumbarton and 132 goals – the second highest in the club’s history)
Kenny Wilson (101 games for Dumbarton and 87 goals)
Peter Coleman (199 games for Dumbarton and 20 goals)
Allan McKay (128 games for Dumbarton and 2 goals)
Bobby Holmes (trainer during the legendary 1971/72 season)

Between them, the six former players in attendance played for the club almost 1,500 times.

They’ll be in hospitality before the game, and afterwards will make their way through to Bar 72 for photos, autographs and a chat with our supporters.

We’d be delighted to see as many fans as possible visit the bar after the game to meet them – and hopefully celebrate another victory against Alloa.
