Dumbarton are on the road tomorrow afternoon, making the short journey to Ochilview to take on league leaders Stenhousemuir [kick-off 3:00pm].
Both sides were in action on Tuesday afternoon with a brace from Tony Wallace earning Sons a draw against Alloa Athletic whilst the Warriors 3-0 win at Cove Rangers took them to the summit of the division.
Dumbarton boss Stevie Farrell was encouraged by another positive showing against the Wasps during the week, though was disappointed they couldn’t hold on for all three points.
Speaking to the clubs website, he said: “We responded really well to an early setback on Tuesday and managed to turn the game around before creating a couple of chances at 2-1 that we should have taken to put the game out of sight.
“The squad have shown great character to put all of the off the field issues behind them when it comes to taking to the pitch, which is no surprise to me because they are a great dressing room. We’ll need that same effort and mentality throughout the rest of the season.
“The league remains extremely tight but Stenhousemuir are where they are on merit and it’s going to be another difficult afternoon for us tomorrow.
“If we continue to show the same fight we have shown in recent weeks and take the chances when they come our way, we give ourselves of a positive outcome against any team in this division.”
In team news, Matty Shiels returns to the match day squad. Michael Ruth and James Hilton miss out, however, though they are expected not to be long-term absentees.
