The SPFL Trust Trophy takes centre stage this weekend as Dumbarton face another long journey north to take on Peterhead in the third round of the competition [kick-off 3:00pm].
Sons were comfortable 4-0 winners against Berwick Rangers in the last round whilst tomorrow’s hosts are entering the competition at this stage.
Stevie Farrell’s side are currently on a run of six games without defeat, though five of those have been draws in League One – the latest of which was against Kelty Hearts last weekend.
The Blue Toon, meanwhile, currently sit top of League Two after an impressive start consisting of four wins and one draw in their opening five games.
The sides will be very familiar with each other having met four times in League Two last season and boss Farrell plans to shake things up.
Speaking to the clubs website, he said: “I’m pleased that we were able to earn another point last weekend though it should have been more.
“We are giving away poor goals which is putting us up against it every week and it something we need to cut out.
“We are obviously creating plenty of chances and getting into good areas on a consistent basis but we could also be more clinical in front of goal.
“Tomorrow’s game gives us a chance to freshen things up and we will be looking to use the squad.
“The strength in depth means I can do that without having any concerns about who is coming in and it’s a chance for a few players to put a marker down and grab a jersey.”
Farrell reports there are no injury concerns for tomorrow’s fixture with a full squad to choose from.
