Dumbarton return to action tomorrow in a big game at the top of cinch League Two as Stenhousemuir visit the Rock [kick-off 3.00pm].

After the disappointment of last weeks call off against Peterhead, Sons will be hoping to bounce back when the league leaders come calling.

Stenny’s fixture with Bonnyrigg Rose was one of just a handful of fixtures to beat the freeze last weekend, with their 1-0 victory extending their lead at the top of the division to three points.

Boss Stevie Farrell admits the call-off provided him with mixed emotions as he looked ahead to tomorrow’s game.

He told the clubs website: “The postponement last week was disappointing, but it did allow for a rest for the players after putting so much into games recently.

“That being said, when you’re in such good form you want to keep playing games so in that aspect it was frustrating.

“The league table tells you exactly how well Stenhousemuir are doing this season and we know we are in for a difficult game tomorrow.

“They have won their last five fixtures, just as we have, and have one of the in-form players in the division leading the line. They are full of quality, but we know we are a good side as well.

“They generally don’t concede many goals, but we have shown earlier on this season that we can hurt them if we get into the right areas and we will be looking to do that again tomorrow.

“All aspects of our game need to be at their peak if we are to come out with a successful outcome but we have worked hard this week and I believe in this group of players.”

The sides have met once this season with Dumbarton winning 4-2 at Ochilview in August. First-half goals from Sean Crighton, James Hilton and two from Ross MacLean had Sons cruising before a Matty Aitken brace proved to be no more than a consolation.

Mark Durnan, Callum Wilson and Greig Young all remain sidelined and will miss tomorrow’s fixture.

Tickets are on sale to both sets of supporters with adults paying £17, concessions and students paying £11 and under-16’s in for £5. Tickets can be purchased here: Season tickets are valid.
