It’s the start of a new era at Dumbarton Football Club tomorrow afternoon as the first match of the Mario Lapointe ownership takes place.
The clubs preparations for the 2025/26 season continue with the visit of Premiership outfit St Mirren [kick-off 2:00pm].
Sons took part in the Stirlingshire Cup last weekend, losing both matches 2-0 against Stenhousemuir and Stirling Albion, but tomorrow will be the first chance for the home support to catch a glimpse of the new faces at the club.
The club officially exited administration in the last week which allowed incoming signings to be officially approved by the SFA as boss Stevie Farrell looks to add the final touches to his squad ahead of the competitive action getting under way.
Tomorrow’s squad will feature players who have signed contracts with the club as well as those who have arrived on loan deals and a collection of trialists.
The incoming trio of players on loan from tomorrow’s visitors will be shared amongst the clubs – Carrick McEvoy and Theo McCormick will play for Dumbarton whilst Thomas Falconer will wear a St Mirren jersey and then travel with the Buddies for their pre-season training camp in Malaga before joining up with Sons on his return.
Farrell commented: “It’s been a positive week with the news that we have officially exited administration and we are now in a position to start looking forward as a club.
“We are pleased with the moves we have made so far but there are still a couple of areas in the squad in which we would like to add and we’ll be having a look at a few more players tomorrow.
“We’ve got a good blend of the experience from last season and we’ve brought in some proven quality for this level as well as a sprinkling of youth so a lot of boxes are ticked in terms of what we want to do.
“St Mirren are just off the back of another successful campaign and I have a lot of admiration for what they have been doing in recent seasons but these are the type of games that will make sure we are prepared properly.”
Match tickets are available to purchase in advance via Fanbase or can be purchased on the day from the ticketing window at Bar 72 with cash and card accepted.
Supporters are reminded they can meet new club owner Mario Lapointe in Bar 72 from 11:30am tomorrow morning where he will explain his ambitions for the club and take questions from fans in attendance. The bar will be open throughout.
St Mirren supporters can make use of the Chivas Suite pre-match where the bar will be open from 12:30pm. Entry is via the door at the away concourse.
