Dumbarton return to the Marbill Coaches Stadium tomorrow with Queen of the South the visitors for a William Hill League One fixture [kick-off 3:00pm].
Sons will be keen to get back on track after their first two league wins of the season have been followed up with defeats against Cove Rangers and Kelty Hearts.
The sides have met twice this season already, both at Palmerston, with the hosts running out 2-0 winners on both occasions – a Premier Sports Cup tie back in July and a league fixture in September.
Boss Stevie Farrell knows his side are capable of putting things right at the Rock tomorrow afternoon, but knows they need to be more clinical.
Speaking to the clubs website, he said: “It’s been a familiar story for much of the season, but we had chances to win the match last week. Clear cut chances at that and ones we should be taking.
“Teams generally aren’t dominating us and our goalkeeper is hardly having a save to make through 90 minutes but we are then punished when Kelty score a great goal from nothing and get another from the second phase of a corner. It’s the fine margins of League One football.
“It’s promising that we are playing well but the time for saying this now needs to stop and we need to start taking our chances and putting points on the board. I’m confident it will soon fall for us.”
In team news, Matty Shiels remains absent with a groin injury. All other players are free from injury and suspension.
