MATCH PREVIEW: DUMBARTON VS PETERHEAD

Dumbarton are back at the Rock tomorrow for the first of a home double header, starting with the visit of Peterhead [kick-off 3.00pm].

Sons will be looking to return to winning ways after a couple of defeats in a row as they were knocked out of the SPFL Trust Trophy by Kelty Hearts a fortnight ago which was followed up with their first league loss of the season at Elgin on Saturday.

Peterhead, meanwhile, will be hoping that last weeks victory over league leaders Bonnyrigg Rose can get their season going again.

The Blue Toon won two out of their first three games before falling to back-to-back defeats against Spartans and Stranraer ahead of Saturday’s Bonnyrigg win.

Boss Stevie Farrell admits his team were far from their best last weekend but knows if they get back to their best then they will have every chance of securing three points.

He said: “Last week at Elgin we created a couple of decent openings but over the piece we weren’t good enough and ultimately got what we deserved.

“It’s the first time this season that I can say that so we know that we have to be better for what is a tough game against Peterhead.

“They picked up an impressive result last weekend and will be looking to build on that when they visit us tomorrow.

“However, we are looking for a reaction after the Elgin game and we know that if we play to the standards that we have set and are clinical in the final third then we have a good chance of getting a successful outcome.”

The Sons boss has a full squad to choose from once again with everyone free from suspension and injury, with the exception of the long-term missing Callum Wilson.
