Dumbarton return to the Marbill Coaches Stadium tomorrow after two weeks on the road with Montrose visiting for the first fixture between the sides this season [kick-off 3:00pm].
Sons recorded their sixth consecutive league draw last weekend when Annan Athletic scored in second-half injury-time to earn a point whilst Montrose will be buoyed by their 3-0 victory over Stenhousemuir that sees them occupy fourth place in the League One table.
Boss Stevie Farrell admits it was a familiar tale for his ten-man side who had chances to put the game to bed against the Galabankies but knows the first win will come if his players can maintain their level of performance.
Speaking to the clubs website, he said: “I was really proud of the players last weekend – in the first 15-minutes we were so far on top before we got a man sent off and even after that we created the better chances. They deserved more.
“The win isn’t far away if we keep playing like that because the boys are in a good place and probably deserve to have six more points than we have.
“Montrose are a really well drilled side with a well established squad at this level and it’s going to be a hugely difficult game for us, but we have shown we can compete with every team so far and we’ll be looking to put on the same level of performance tomorrow afternoon.”
The Sons manager reports that he has a full squad to choose from with Brett Long available for selection after the club successfully appealed his red card last weekend.
