MATCH PREVIEW: DUMBARTON VS INVERNESS CT

Dumbarton return to the Marbill Coaches Stadium tomorrow afternoon with Inverness Caledonian Thistle the visitors in the first of a home double header of League One fixtures [kick-off 3:00pm].

Sons will be looking to build on their first three points of the season last weekend which were picked up thanks to a 3-1 win against Arbroath at Gayfield.

It’s been a week of turmoil for Inverness, however, with the club officially entered into administration. That has resulted in boss Duncan Ferguson leaving his role alongside other members of the backroom staff and four first-team players. The Caley Jags were also hit with a 15-point deduction that resulted in them falling to the bottom of the League One table.

Dumbarton manager Stevie Farrell admits it’s a sorry sight what has happened to the Highland side but insists when it comes to 3:00pm tomorrow afternoon, there can be only one aim for his troops.

Speaking to the clubs website, he said: “It felt good to get three points on the board last weekend and to get the monkey off our back.

“We’ve competed in all but one game in the league this season and to finally get our rewards on Saturday was well deserved.

“It’s not nice to see what has happened at Inverness recently with lots of hard-working people affected by it. They are one of the biggest clubs in the country and everyone is hoping they can come out on the other end.

“There is still plenty of quality within their squad despite what has happened and they will be full of motivation to get three points which is something we need to make sure that we match.”

It’s a full squad to choose from for the Sons boss with Cammy Clark returning from suspension.
