Football returns to the Rock tomorrow as Dumbarton get their pre-season schedule under way with the visit of last seasons League One champions Falkirk [kick-off 2:00pm].

The Bairns will provide a stern test to the Sons having gone through last seasons campaign as invincibles as they prepare for life in the Championship.

Dumbarton are at home for the first time after earning promotion and supporters will be able to catch a glimpse of some of the clubs newest signings in the summer transfer window.

Boss Stevie Farrell is hoping for a good exercise as he told the clubs website: “Getting back and playing in front of supporters after a break during the summer is always an exciting occasion and we are looking forward to getting the legs moving again.

“Pre-season so far has been promising with all of the guys reporting back in top condition and working really hard through some tough sessions. It’s great to be back at training but nothing prepares you more than a game of football.

“The new players have integrated really well, which we expected they would, and it will be good for the supporters to see some of our new signings for the first time tomorrow against a very good Falkirk side.”

In team news, Cammy Clark will miss out tomorrow as he is on holiday but return for the trip to Glenafton on Tuesday. Tony Wallace sat out of a closed-doors game with Caledonian Braves last night as a precaution and Greig Young has come through every session so far without any reaction to the ACL injury that kept him out last season – though he is more likely to play a part against Glenafton or Hebburn.
