Dumbarton get their calendar year under way tomorrow as East Fife are first footers to the Rock [kick-off 3.00pm].

With Sons out of action last weekend after their game with Stranraer was postponed, they will be looking to return to winning ways after drawing 4-4 with Clyde last time out.

The Fifers game against Forfar Athletic did beat the weather as they battled to a 0-0 draw to extend their run of fixtures without a victory to three.

Boss Stevie Farrell admits last weeks call off was a blow as he now prepares for three games in a week.

He told the clubs website: “Obviously it was disappointing to not have a fixture last weekend as it has made for a pretty inconsistent spell of games for us.

“We’re now heading into the opposite of that with three games across seven days and a good few miles on the road but for now the attention can only be on tomorrow and what is going to be another tough encounter.

“We have been conceding too many goals lately so that needs to stop and after two tight meetings with East Fife already this season, we know we have to tighten up at the back.

“If we can do that but continue the same form we have shown at the other end of the park, then it makes for a good chance of a positive outcome for us.”

There hasn’t been much in the meetings between the sides this season despite Sons picking up 1-0 wins on both occasions. Sons left it late to win at the Rock in September thanks to Sean Crighton’s header and it was a different story at Bayview a couple of months later when Kalvin Orsi struck the only goal of the game after a few minutes.

Callum Wilson, Greig Young, Brett Long and Mark Durnan remain on the sidelines though Ross MacLean has recovered from illness. Kalvin Orsi is subject to a fitness test pre-match.

As per our new story earlier this week, Sons season ticket holders can bring a friend tomorrow for just £10. With no Premiership sides in action tomorrow, they are also welcome to join us at the Rock and gain entry for just £10 (upon proof of a valid season ticket at a top flight side). Tickets can also be bought in advance here:

Home and away fans are welcome in Bar 72 ahead of kick-off, which opens at 1.30pm. Visiting fans should enter through turnstiles 1 and 2 if they wish to make use of the facilities pre-match and will be taken to away section of the stadium prior to kick-off.

If you can’t make it tomorrow, and are outwith the UK and Ireland, you don’t have to miss a minute of action by buying our live stream. Costing £10 and with full commentary, purchase here:

Tomorrow’s match referee is Duncan Williams and he will be assisted by Sean Carr and Liam Duncan.
