Dumbarton are back at the Marbill Coaches Stadium tomorrow afternoon with Annan Athletic the visitors for a League One fixture [kick-off 3:00pm].
Sons will be looking to get back on track after a disappointing 4-0 loss at Stenhousemuir last weekend, where the visitors finished with nine-men, brought a run of three games unbeaten to an end.
The Galabankies put a point on the board last weekend with a 1-1 draw against Cove Rangers, though it did extend their winless run to six games.
14 points separate the teams in the League One table with Dumbarton looking to cut the gap on both Inverness and Annan with three points at the Rock, and boss Stevie Farrell is looking for his side to get back to the standards they have set in recent weeks.
Speaking to the clubs website, he said: “A number of things went against us last week and whilst there were some bright moments for us it’s always going to be difficult when you have one man sent off, never mind two.
“We’ve had a good week of training and are looking to find the levels of performance we put in against Queen of the South and Alloa where we were well worth our wins.
“We look to target three points in every game we play, no matter who we are up against, and that’s no different tomorrow.
“If we can get back to playing how we have throughout most of the season, then we give ourselves an excellent chance of three points.”
In team news, Brett Long is suspended following his red card against Stenhousemuir and failed appeal. Mark Durnan picked up his sixth yellow card in the league last week and will also miss tomorrow’s match as a result. Finlay Gray was dismissed against the Warriors but his red card was overturned on appeal and he is available for selection. Carlo Pignatiello hobbled off against Stenhousemuir and will undergo a fitness test prior to kick-off. James Hilton remains out injured.
In Bar 72 before kick-off, there will be the opportunity to purchase Christmas gifts from the club shop. A calendar signing session will take place in the Community Suite from 1:00pm with 2025 calendars available to be purchased for £15 and your favourite Dumbarton players on hand to sign them.
After that, administrators Craig Morrison and Ian Wright will deliver a short speech in Bar 72 from 2:15pm. Club directors Colin Hosie and Cameron Watson will also be on hand to offer some words. Collection buckets, arranged by the Sonstrust, will also be placed around the stadium with any donations gratefully received.
The first ever live performance of original song ‘Stand up for the Sons’ will also be performed live by Robert Ryan in Bar 72 prior to kick-off.
