Dumbarton play their first home league fixture of the 2024/25 season tomorrow afternoon as they welcome Alloa Athletic to the Marbill Coaches Stadium [kick-off 3:00pm].
Both sides picked up a point in their opening game of the League One campaign as Sons came from behind to earn a draw against Inverness CT in the Highlands whilst Alloa were held by Queen of the South.
Boss Stevie Farrell admits his sides weren’t good enough in the first-half last weekend but was pleased with their reaction after the interval.
He commented: “We struggled to keep a hold of the ball in the first-half and gave it away far too many times, which isn’t like us.
“We changed things up at half-time because of that and we were much better in the second period. We totally deserved our point and if it wasn’t for the red card I would have fancied us to go on and win it.
“We know there’s no room for error in this division so we need to be at it from the first whistle tomorrow, and if we can show the same quality, work rate and determination that we showed in the second-half against Inverness, we’ll give ourselves every chance.”
In team news, Mouhamed Niang is the only absentee after his red card last week. David Wilson is set to return to the squad.
