Dumbarton return to league action tomorrow when they make they journey to Annan for match day six in William Hill League One [kick-off 3:00pm].
The sides come into the game on the back of different outcomes in the SPFL Trust Trophy last weekend as Annan were comfortable winners against Stranraer whilst Dumbarton were narrowly knocked out by Peterhead.
In league form, the Galabankies started the season in impressive form with victories in their first two matches but have since suffered three defeats in a row.
Stevie Farrell’s side are still waiting on their first three points of the season, though have yet to be beaten with five draws from their opening five fixtures.
The Sons boss hopes his troops will be raring to go after cup duty last weekend and insists that the first win of the season isn’t be far away.
Speaking to the clubs website, he said: “To lose any match is disappointing so we were frustrated after last weekend but it was a good exercise and on another day we could have found ourselves in the hat for the next round.
“We quickly need to turn our attention back to the bread and butter of league football though, and what’s going to be a really difficult game.
“Annan have shown that they can compete at this level with a couple of impressive victories and after scoring five goals last weekend they will be in a good place.
“All we can do is look at ourselves and what we can do to have an influence on the game.
“We have shown we can score plenty of goals and have shown great character to come back from being behind in every game, however the next goal for us has to be to get our noses in front and see where it takes us.”
It’s a full squad for Farrell to choose from with Kilmarnock loanee Ethan Brown available for selection after his loan signing during the week.
