MANAGER’S REACTION TO SCOTTISH CUP DRAW

Tuesday 21st November 2017

STEVIE Aitken was disappointed to miss out on a home tie after his side drew Peterhead away in the William Hill Scottish Cup.

But Stevie revealed that the tie is ‘winnable’ but knows game at Balmoor Stadium won’t be easy.

He said: “I’m obviously happy that we achieved the win against Elgin City to be in the fourth round of the cup.

“A home game in January would have been my preference, but that’s the beauty of the competition and the game is certainly winnable.

“As the Championship club, the bookies will make us slight favourites, but in the last round Peterhead showed what they can do by beating Raith Rovers who are in League 1.

“It’s all about preparation for games like this. As with the Irn Bru Cup semi-final, we’ll do what we can to make sure the boys are in the correct setting and go about things professionally.”

The fourth round tie at Peterhead is due to be played on Saturday 20th January 2018.
