SONS boss Ian Murray hailed his team after blowing away Alloa Athletic last Saturday.
He heaped praise on Chris Kane who grabbed a double to take his tally to 4 goals in 3 games since joining on-loan from St Johnstone.
Murray said: “Kano was brilliant at Recreation Park.
“He’s on fire and has adapted well to how we play and to the standard in the Championship.
“We are looking at extending his deal to the end of the season and hopefully we’ll have news on that front very soon.”
The victory catapulted the Sons into the promotion play-off reckoning and on the overall performance a delighted gaffer said: “We know what we are capable of and that includes grabbing a place in the top four.
“But it’s such a tight league, things can change quickly.
“We’ve scored 11 goals in three games and Saturday’s result was one that was just around the corner. It was going to happen.
“We played very well and Kirky’s volley at the end to make it five goals was special.”
Sons now face Livingston at the Bet Butler Stadium this weekend – 25th January – and with only 2 points separating the teams, the game is yet another crucial one.
The manager agrees. He said: “Every game in the Championship has meaning and the next game against Livingston has significance.
“They lost to Morton but we know what they can do and we had our scouts at the game.
“Hopefully we can push on, but as I’ve said before, anything can happen in this league.”
