MANAGEMENT TEAM EXTEND CONTRACTS

DUMBARTON FC is delighted to announce that manager Stevie Farrell, his assistant Frank McKeown, and goalkeeping coach Eric Phillips, have extended their contracts until the 2025 close season.

The trio have led our ongoing efforts to mark 150 years of Dumbarton FC in the best possible way this season, by winning promotion back to cinch League One.

And this development enables us to start planning for the future – including talking to players who Stevie wishes to be part of his squad for the 2023/24 campaign.

Since coming to Dumbarton in the 2021 close season, Stevie, Frank and Eric have shown outstanding energy and commitment to the club – Stevie of course is in his second spell with us.

He has also been Glens Vodka League Two manager of the month three times this season, having also won the prize in League One once last season.

Dumbarton chairman Neil Mackay said: “We are delighted to confirm the futures of Stevie, Frank and Eric for a further two years beyond when their deals were due to expire.

“As well as overseeing a successful league campaign to date, they have acted as excellent ambassadors for our club, engaging effectively with our supporters and our local community.

“These deals will also allow us to start planning for next season early – and we have every intention that season will be spent back in cinch League One.

“A lot of work lies ahead to make that happen, but we trust Stevie and his staff and team to do that work effectively and with results which reward their efforts. We look forward to seeing what the rest of the season, and beyond, has in store under their leadership.”

Stevie added: “It is an easy decision to extend my stay here at Dumbarton and hopefully the best of this season is yet to come.

“Nobody was happy with how we ended last season, but the board have continued to show confidence in us and we have done, and will continue to do, our utmost to reward that loyalty.

“Dumbarton FC is more than just a football club, although results on a Saturday are the biggest aspect. It is a place for friends to gather and unite for a common cause, and to enjoy the good times together.

“Now let’s go and strive for more of those good times, and give 150 years of the club the ending to the season that it deserves.”
